☆New exhibition☆

I had a chance to participate in the preview of the new exhibition at Melbourne Museum.

It's called "REVOLUTIONS Records & Rebels". Basically, it is about the history of music and its backgrounds between the 1950s and 2000s; such as wars, protests, drugs, and revolutions.

In the beginning, the presentation was held by providing tea, coffee, and some sweets. It was good for someone who didn't eat breakfast or have a cup of coffee. I, of course, ate some sweets and had a cup of coffee.

So let's get into the exhibition!

All the guest must be looking around with a device which provided the related music according to each exhibition sections. It was very interesting because the suitable music was played as I walked into another section.

As you know, the Beatles is one of the famous group in the world. It was not exceptional here. Many pieces of exhibits related to the Beatles, such as records and jackets' artworks, lyric memos written by John Lennon, glasses worn by John Lennon, and suits worn by members of the Beatles.

I found the tiny Yellow Submarine there☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️.

Do you know the song "Yellow Submarine"?

It was one of the famous songs of the Beatles.

In the 1970s when I was a little kid, there were so many attractive events occurred both domestic and international.

In 1969, the Apollo 11 landed on the moon and Armstrong put the first step on the moon. I still remember that we were watching the TV in the classroom at that time.

In 1970, Expo 70 Osaka was held in Osaka, Japan.

My father was born near Osaka so I visited Expo 70 and my father's home town with my family during the summer break. These related exhibits were so nostalgic for me. 

PAN AM was one of my favourite airlines in the 1980s when I flew for the first time in my life. I really yearned for the PAN AM stewardesses (flight attendants) at that time. 

Several years ago, there was a drama about PAN AM stewardesses by the way. 

Since I worked for a computer company before in the 1980s, these exhibits were also really interesting things that were the 1960s products though.

Overall, this exhibition was so impressive because of two main reasons.

One of the reasons is how the music had influenced social life and vice versa.

The other reason is some of the exhibits made me remind so many things in my childhood.

Anyway, I highly recommend this exhibition for anyone who loves music or late 1900s history.
